What is Cat Colony Sterilization
The Cat Sterilization program involves trapping, spaying or neutering, then re-releasing that animal back to its home.
The New River Humane Society partners with local vet offices and clinics to help reduce the over population of feral and stray cats in Fayette County. Community members who want to help can complete a sterilization program application and contribute a financial donation to receive a special voucher. Community members are responsible for trapping and bringing these cats to the vet for surgery, picking them up after the procedure, and returning them to where they were trapped.
